In addition to Scorpio, a second unidentified alien race has appeared, code-named Gemini, as the creatures are always seen in pairs. They are apparently hostile both to humans and Scorpio, and should be considered extremely dangerous.

| An alien microbe infected one of the astronauts, and transformed him into a creature impervious to the rigors of the Martian atmosphere, and to most of the weaponry available to the Marsbase team. His skin now produces a caustic substance that is eating away at his space suit. Only his gold watch was apparently untouched by the excretion, leading the team to believe that particular metal is immune to its effects. His mental state has become unstable, and shows signs of continuing deterioration, making him a growing danger to everyone on Marsbase 3... |
